Leopard and Pink

A leopard skirt has been on my wish list for quite some time.  I didn't find one last year at the right price, so when I found this one on thredUP for $3, I was sold.  I love the longer length and the slight metallic look of the fabric.  I decided to pair it with my hot pink blouse, then added my black blazer to polish off the look.

Pretty in Pink

A Utility Vest and Stripes

Recently the sweet Amy at Mariposa Medley sent me this great Kendra Scott Inspired necklace.  I'm only slightly obsessed.  I now have pink, teal, and black.  I tell you what, they go with everything!  I love it her with my utility vest and striped dress.  I have it with wedges here, but I think it'll be great with booties in a month or so.

Loving Lace

I really love the shirt and skirt I'm showing you today!  I don't have anything else like them and this shirt can easily be dressed up with this skirt, or untucked and worn casually with jeans or shorts. Winner!  Today I styled them with my denim jacket and wedges to wear to school this week.  The skirt also has pockets, so that's a double win in my book. : )

School is here, whether we are ready for not! This week marks our first full week back and we are in full swing! When getting ready for the school year I have a tendency scroll through Pinterest like crazy for activity inspiration, and then search out great deals on school supplies to help my classroom activity ideas become a reality.

I'm so excited about this maxi dress!  It's so unique and I feel like it's super flattering too.  It's hit's perfectly at the waist and the "chevon" design down the front is such a neat feature! I decided to pair it with my white denim jacket and fun sandals.  I'm looking forward to pairing it with my denim jacket and my cobalt and mint cardigans from J.Crew Factory too.

Chevron and Teal

This chevron dress has been completely undervalued in my closet this summer.  I just didn't have any places to wear it, other than church, which I did twice, so I was excited to pull it out to wear this week.  

Kiss

 I really like this "kiss" shirt I picked up at J.Crew Factory this summer.  It's the only graphic shirt I own and I love it.  The fact that it says "kiss" is kind of fitting because I wore this during Inservice at school, so I'm basically kissing summer goodbye.

I recently downloaded the app "Timehop," which is free and really cool.  It pull up what you shared or Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. exactly a year, two, three, etc. behind.  There was definitely a trend this week for the last decade.  Almost every post included me lamenting summer's end and wishing it would last longer.  I guess I just need to get used to the fact that time flies when you're having fun.

Punk Floral

This dress is definitely my favorite purchase of the summer and I'm wearing it today for the first day of school.  Yep, it's already here!  Luckily, it's only a half day.  I'll be honest, it's taking me a while to get back into school mode, but I am excited to get back into my dress clothes on a more regular basis.

You all know I love a good statement necklace. Just when I think I have every one I could possibly want, I spot some more beauties I'd love to add to my collection.  Here are a few I'm loving right now:

Coral and Mint

 Ive already worn this mint cardigan on the blog twice already, once with my maxi dress, once with my striped shorts, and now today I'm showing it with this ikat tank and my favorite white shorts.  I wore it recently to do a bit of furniture shopping with Brian, but am actually wearing it again today for our first teacher Inservice day.

Furniture shopping is hard, and no, we didn't buy anything. We'd like to get new living room furniture and think we found what we like, now it's just pulling the trigger... Hopefully I get a little bit more accomplished at school wearing it today :)

Perfect Prints

I don't know about you, but I can have a tendency to be drawn to shorts, dresses, and jackets that have prints on them, but I sometimes forget about tops.  When I came across this top I kind of hemmed and hawed about getting it, was it versatile, did I need it, was the price right? I ended up getting it because it went so well with these shorts, but I've found this top goes with so many things!  Today I'm pairing them with a pair of shorts I picked up last year for Loft and wore this to run around for errands one day. 

I then wore this again with my gold flats to Lego Land with Grant last week. He had a blast and this was one combo I really wanted to repeat before school started. 

P.F. Chang's Style Lettuce Wraps

Today I have a treat for you all, I'm sharing my favorite dinner time recipe with you all.  Chicken lettuce wraps similar to those you can order at P.F. Chang's.  I first heard about these from my husband, and he literally shamed me after I came home from a girl's night there and informed him I didn't order the famed lettuce wraps. I didn't know of their deliciousness at the time.  I ended up coming across a recipe I've adapted to fit the ingredients in our pantry better, but let me tell you, these babies are delicious.

They can either be served with chilled lettuce as shown below or with white rice, we usually make both and do a combination, plus the rice is easier for Grant than the lettuce.

Navy and Stripes

I recently wore this to have coffee with one of my girlfriends.  We worked together for year, and were work out buddies for years too, then once I had Grant and switched schools seeing each other daily has turned into a handful of times each year, which is just what happens sometimes.  The best part is, whenever we do meet up it's like no time has passed, and that's the best kind of friend to have.

Pattern Mixing

 Now, you all know I love clothes, but it's not very often that I just can't get enough of a piece in my closet, however, these shorts and this top are two of my favorite pieces from this summer.  I'm starting back to school next week...yep already.....and as much as I've missed my dressy clothes, I'm really going to miss easy shorts outfits like this.  Oh, well, back to reality.
