My New Favorite Outfit: What's Your Style?

What's Your Style?

I feel like some people have really great consistent style.  I know when I see them or go to their blog, I know what I'm going to see, which is great when I want inspiration.   I feel like my style isn't quite there yet.  Sometimes I feel dressy/professional, sometimes casual, sometimes trendy, sometimes pretty, sometimes girly, and sometimes like a fashion victim. What about you?  Do you feel like you know your style, if so how would you define it?  Are you like me, lacking consistency? I don't necessarily think one is better than the other, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  3. I love that skirt!

I think my most consistent style could be described as preppy, but really, I'm all over the place these days.

  4. My personal style is definitely all over the place, but often leans toward the "eclectic" side of things. Some days I might be feeling edgy or girly or brave...haha. I like to keep things interesting!

  5. What a fun print on your skirt! I think my style is pretty consistent but sometimes I like to change it up and wear things out of my comfort zone!

  6. I kind of feel the same way about my style! I guess I'm pretty consistent in the updated casual look, but sometimes I like to dress up, sometimes I like to be more edgy, and even though I kind of hate wearing work clothes, sometimes I do like the professional look. So I totally hear you! Love this outfit!

  8. The print on that skirt is awesome. What a great find! I am definitely lacking in consistency, but I think it's because different days have different requirements. Right now, I'm spending my days with an 11 month old...which means a lot of sitting on the floor, crawling, and, let's face it, messes. I need things that are comfortable and move well, without showing my butt crack (nothing like a collection of plumbers at a playdate). When I go back to work, it's an office environment, and I never know when I need to go to a news conference or a studio, so I need to look polished. I don't see this as inconsistent - I see it as dressing for the occasion. :D

  9. You look great, love this skirt! And I think an eclectic style is wonderful. I change mine with the seasons and with my moods, although there's a lot of things that are truly "not me".It is fun to experiment, right? Thanks for linking up to Vis Monday!

  10. What a fab skirt!

I think style should reflect your personality that day. I'm never the same and I like that. If I were always wearing the same styles it would be boring and quite frankly not inspirational at all. There are certain blogs and although they have changed the pieces they are wearing they look exactly the same as they always have. It may look put together, but honestly unless they can get a bit creative I'm going to lose interest and not return to their blog. It's a case of been there, seen that.

  11. love this outfit~! i feel inconsistent in my style too since i like a few different styles of clothing. that makes it hard to have a specific "style" - but i think as long as you love what you're wearing, that's all that matters!

  12. I can't believe that skirt was thrifted! That's too pretty to hide away like that! Love it. And yes, I can totally classify my style too, but half the time, I never know what I want to call it!

Stopping by from the link up!
    Happy Monday!

  13. First you look incredible. I love the scarf and skirt and wow that scarf came from the Dollar Store?! I actually feel like I know your style. You look girly, chic with a mix of casual thrown it. You prefere dresses and skirts like I do.

I think my style is a mixture between looking elegant, dressy, girly and simple yet with a little bit of an edge, usually being comfortable and staying within my style. I used to wear heels a lot more but like most girls I love shoes and own a ton of them. I prefer dresses & skirts to pants and shorts, though I wear my fair share of pants & jeans, too, as well as leggings - lots of leggings.

  14. I love this skirt!!! So cute! I know my style is classic, maybe preppy but then I like not-so-classic pieces too. Wednesday my outfit will be different from the preppy vibe I've been into but it's still totally me...

  15. Depending on my mood I have many styles, but i think in general it would be classic. Love the skirt today, totally retro :) Dont' forget my link up this thursday and I"m doing a fabulous giveaway for a stella and dot bracelet.

  16. I feel the exact same way about my style... As in I don't have a specific one! I think that has a lot to do with thrifting. I don't shop at specific stores, so we don't have a specific style. I can kinda see a specific style for you.. Lots of pencil skirts, blazers, and cardigans, but always spiced up with a fun necklace, scarf, or fun pattern!

  21. Oooh - good question! I'm with you - I feel like my style is all over the place. I dress less hippie-like now that I am out of college and working professionally. I'm sure my style will continue to evolve as my life does, but I do feel confident about things that I like/dislike, which is a good thing!

  25. So glad I stumbled upon your blog! You are adorable! I love your trendy style while being a teacher and a mom. I totally understand inconsistency with fashion... I love being fashion forward, but I don't always feel like it ;) some days are more casual and others I look really put together. It all depends on the mood and what makes it uniquely YOU :)

  26. Hmmm. I think about this a lot, too, and it's one of the reasons I began blogging in the first place. I think for me, I try to look put together and classy, but never boring. I'm a simpler dresser, and I'm not super into trends. I love the way you dress - I would wear pretty much any of the outfits you have!

PS. I'm in love with your boots. The heel is chunky enough that even clumsy me could wear them :)

  27. Well the best part about style is that it evolves when you want it too :) I think I'm pretty classic for the most part, but sometimes I feel edgier or more modern and want to mix it up. Good thing we get to the define our own style rules :) And I love yours!

  28. Your skirt is so fun! It looks great with those boots!

I know that I'm still trying to find my own style, but I'm starting to think that I've got a few different personalities when it comes to my outfits. I think that's okay though as long as I still feel like me.

  29. I love mixing it up! I don't like to do the same styles of outfits all of the time! Your skirt is gorgeous!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! That outfit is so classy! Those boots are super cute too!

  30. That skirt!! I love it! I feel the same way, I can't really define my style - every day I feel like wearing something different and I can't quite pinpoint what my universal "style" is. I like it that way, though!

i love the mixture of blacks & browns in your outfit! and those boots are sweet, makes me want a pair of high heeled tall boots for myeslf! :)

  36. Ugh, this is something I struggle with all the time. I don't know how to nail it down. Simple? Classic? Boring? Things I know I'm not: girly girl, edgy, boho. Hey, once you figure it out, let me know please!

Also, I love this outfit. It's so cohesive and...thrifty!

  37. That skirt is adorable and I'm so jealous that it's a thrifted find! I think it's a good thing to have diversity with your style. It makes personal style that much more fun!

  38. Lacking consistency, orrrrrr.... embraceing variety! Much better to not feel constrained by a genre, especially when you come up with outfits as ADORABLE as this one.
Great, great, great skirt. Lots of ways to wear this one, as well!
    Enjoy.

  46. I'm struggling with the same issues...I have good style days, fashion fails, and days that I just give up and throw on whatever I can in order to get out the door. I think the important thing is actually reflecting back on the outfit and trying to learn something from it, whatever style it was, which is where blogging comes in very handy.

I love the outfit above - work-appropriate but still fun. :)

  47. First, you look great. Second, I know what you mean about kind of being all over the place - I feel that way sometimes, too. But then people tell me that a certain piece looks "so me" so I'm obviously leaving some kind of impression, and I think that's what matters - that your wardrobe makes a statement even if you can't put that statement in a neat little defined box.
