Back in August I was complaining on Facebook about having to go to back to school and wear "real" clothes again. See, with a toddler most of my summer was spent in shorts and graphic t-shirts, and I was beginning to like it. Then a friend commented on Facebook about checking out Along the Lines of Style for some teacher clothes inspiration. I clicked and was like, "Whoa." I'd never even seen a blog before that point and I'm not gonna lie, I poured through Whitney's achieves to get some inspiration, and it was through her I found all these other great blogs that I still love today! This outfit was actually one the the first I created when trying to rethink my closet. The dress is sleeveless and came with a little sash in the same color. My husband did NOT like it. However, I suddenly loved this dress (and got my hubby's seal of approval) when I added a silver belt and this striped cardigan. I love how blogging has caused me to think outside the box and it's so much more fun to wear clothes different ways then the same way every time.

Such a pretty, spring-y outfit! I love dressing up for work so much and am always always always pulled toward office-y and dressier type clothing when I shop. But lately, I've been really finding myself pulled toward loose-fitting t-shirts, shorts, casual dresses, etc. So unusual for me, but I'm going with it! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your tender color mixing! Pastel! It's flattering to you perfectly!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice score with the $8 dress!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great with the silver belt! I love it! I can barely even remember starting my blog... and it hasn't been that long ago. My mind is fried.

That dress is so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm even more of an outfit-blogging newbie than you are, and I've also noticed a big difference in terms of how I'm being more creative with my approach to combining pieces to make an outfit, instead of having a go-to outfit with each piece.
So so cute!! Love the color of the dress!

You look adorable! I love finding clothing inspiration through blogs. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love shirt dresses - the color of this is gorgeous! I, too, love Whitney's blog and am constantly in awe of how great she looks all the time. I read blogs for about three years before I started my own, so my style has changed a lot since then. Sometimes I wish I could go back and post my old college/first year of marriage outfit! There were some doozies. I think blogging has helped me be more intentional in my purchases and outfits. I have always wanted to look nice, but now, I feel a little bit more pressure (good pressure) to look good :)
