Lately...

Today I'm linking up with Susannah for her In His Image link up. I don't talk about my faith on here very often, although it's very important to me. I really liked the idea of this link up, but struggled to put any thoughts down on here.

Blogging has been such a great experience and I love the support I get from each of you readers and from so many friends and family members, however, sometimes I catch myself just not feeling like I'm not  "good enough." You know the old saying, hear seven compliments and one criticism and what do you remember? The criticism. I have had nothing but such great support from so many, but I have a couple of friends who I've come to the conclusion just think me blogging is weird. It's not what they say about it, it's what they don't. And I let it get to me and stupidly let  it overshadow all the kind words and support I get from others. I'm just a girl....with a blog, and if that's not for everyone, I shouldn't take it personally.

However,  I hate feeling inadequate and letting others have such an impact on my emotions, it's then I'm reminded of who I am in Christ. Galatians 2:20 says: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God. who loved me and gave himself for me. By golly, God thinks I'm good enough to die for, why would I let a select few make me forget that???

*I wrote this earlier this week when I was feeling pretty bummed, shortly after that I had a number of people I know who have never mentioned my blog to me said something really sweet to me about it.  I think that's pretty cool and definitely a sign that I needed to just get over my above feelings and focus on all the good people I do have in my life : )

  2. These colors look amazing together on you! It's only human to let the criticisms or judgments get to you, you've just got to take the time to remind yourself of the good things and what really matters.

  3. I think it's only natural to always let the bad stuff get in the way of the good stuff. For any one of us who puts ourselves out there for whatever reasons, I think it takes a lot of courage and bravery! These colors look great together. Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. You look so pretty. I love this color combo on you. Most of my friends don't really talk about my blog with me either, but it doesn't bother me. Don't let stuff like that get you down, we all appreciate and love what you do here! :)

  5. I'm definitely guilty of focusing on the one criticism, too. When that happens I try to think of all the wonderful things in my life. Your shirt looks so pretty on you and I like the bow bracelet!

  7. It's so true that many people don't understand blogging. I view blogging as a gift though, a platform God uses for me to share my faith, have a cheap form of therapy, and connect with others. Your blog is precious, Ginny, no one has the right to say otherwise. :-) Thanks for linking up!

  8. I have just started a blog and sometimes feel like people think it's a waste of time. But I've come to realize if it makes me happy, it's a waste of time if I DON'T do it! Keep up the great work!

  9. Thank you for sharing your heart. I am a new blogger and I have been a bit discouraged by people who think blogging is silly too. But I started blogging to meet other women who love fashion, family, and fitness and I always strive to glorify God. I am not nearly as pretty or as fashionable as most bloggers, but God loves me just as I am. I happen to think you are fabulous and I wish you were my neighbor so you could style me! Plus I like you , so we could hang out and take walks. Stay focused and all will be well(: Susan

  10. First of all, let me just say that I looooove this outfit. You look so pretty! And secondly, I think I have a lot of friends who don't get the whole blogging thing. I thought that friends would be supportive but some of them just don't care enough to be. But, whatever, I love it, and that is why I keep at it. You do the same thing.

  12. Wonderful post, its true sometime we do let those criticisms make us forget all the wonderful things about ourselves. I absolutely love your honesty. I pray you always see how awesome you are to the Lord and never let anyone try to dim your beautiful light.

    BTW I love the outfit.

  13. I know what you mean. I've never had anyone (that I know personally or just someone commenting) say anything negative about my blog, but it's the things they don't say. I'd rather they not say anything at all if they don't have anything nice to say, but just knowing they're not saying anything means that they don't like it. Does that make sense? But I love it, so I do it. :)

Anyway, I love your blog, and I love this outfit (it's so pretty on you!), so blog away, girlfriend.

  14. I often get too wrapped up in what other people think and let that define me. I love that things changed for you after you wrote this post!

  15. I'm glad you're feeling a little better about things! Because I would really miss your blog if anything ever happened. :) I absolutely know what you mean though. It is so tough putting yourself out there. We just can't let what others say affect us. My mom's wise words help me when I start to have those negative thoughts: There will always be someone with more than you; and someone less than you. I think this can apply to a number of things.

  19. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :) I don't really talk about my faith on my blog either.. I'm always hesitant to though I don't really know why.. I appreciate your openness, vulnerability and honesty :)

  20. It's amazing how loudly we can hear what people don't say. Been experiencing a little of that myself. Thanks for sharing your heart!

  22. Thank you for sharing your heart! I came here via the link-up and love to see what others wrote about! God called us to be set apart--and with that comes criticism and hardships... just know that God created us in his image and hold on to the promise he gives us that it will all be worth it! :)

  23. Hi Ginny!

Your blog is great and you are precious to us, your readers and the World. Never forget that and when you feel like about to forget it, just call or send an email and I personally will remind you how inspiring and fantastic is what you do.
I also have a blog (pretty new, about fashion+travel)and work as Project manager ( construction, education, hotels..), I feel my circle can not understand those two worlds together in my little me, but I think we are complex, we have different interests. I know I am not a teenager and a blogger fits for them only within that age range. Sure I could write about my day work or my studies but that is not what I feel like doing and blogging is for me therapy. (That is why I baptized my blog What I just love).
Don't mind if they say or don't say.. and please don't stop blogging. Noooooo!

    XoXo

  24. Blogging has many wonderful benefits, but it does have the tendency to set us into a comparison trap, doesn't it? I've often felt the sentiments you've expressed here, and I think you've provided us all with a helpful reminder that we're all good enough!
