Casual Perfection

Happy Black Friday! I hope you are all enjoyed your Thanksgiving, We sure did.  Today Brian has to work, whomp, whomp, but Grant, my mom, sister and I plan to do some shopping.  Nothing big, but if there's a deal to be had, I'm in : )

I was able to do a little Black Friday shopping early at J.Crew Factory and Gap Outlet.  They has 50% off on Wednesday day and I picked up this in a solid chambray, this in red, and this beauty.  Having the outlet mall so close could be dangerous.... I also found the perfect dup for the J.Crew herringbone vest I missed out on here.  I seriously think I have a dozen outfits already planned for it.

As for today I need to do some decor shopping for the basement.  Luckily we already have a nice couch set, end table, and coffee tables to put down there, but it's looking pretty naked in the accessorizing department. I love this pillow and this lamp.  We'll see how I make out at Target.  I'm lovin' that new Cartwheel app, I can also get an extra discount. : )

The inspiration for this look came a few weeks ago Whitley wore the cutest casual outfit, and I knew I wanted to put together something similar.  I wore it to go to a craft show with my mom and the Grantster. The puffer vest for perfect for being inside, but it didn't leave me too hot, which is a total plus because I hate lugging a coat around.  I ended up getting a cute leopard scarf, my mom found a super cute window with Santa painted on it, and Grant hit the mother load and got this awesome hand-carved train set and this felt superhero play set.  He's having the time of his life playing with it!

Fur-iffic

So, this outfit.  I'm pretty much in love. I found this vest at the end of winter last year for a steal, but only got to wear it once before it warmed up. I kind struggled with how to wear it then, but when I saw this blouse at Target I knew it would be perfect with the vest and my favorite navy skirt.  Yep, I pretty want to wear this every day :)  When I started this little blog about a year ago I was really trying to land on a style I loved, and I feel like that's what I've been able to do. Thanks you little blog, for your help :)

It's in the Styling: Tip Two, Accessorize

Ever put on a great dress or "in theory" great outfit only to find it's just so-so. Your problem: no accessories to make your look stand out. Today I'm gong to show you a casual way to accessorize a basic navy dress.

I also decided to enter Chippmuck.com's Expert Shopper Contest again with this outfit. I came in 7th last time and the top five won. Help me make the top five this time by loving my look here. You can vote each day too. I seriously appreciate it ladies!

For this look I chose a bold statement necklace and coordinating gold bracelets as my jewelry.  I added my Limited striped blazer with it's classic tailoring to add a dressy edge, then added a yellow belt for a fun color pop.  Lastly I chose my gold scalloped heels as the final touch to this dressy look.  Here are some more shots of the look:

Pretty Please.....

Please vote for me in the expert shopper contest here! The top five by popular vote each get $100 and then compete for the final prize of $250! I'm competing against some pretty great girls and am in 7th place now.  I'd love your support! If you already voted you can vote again!

I got a tremendous deal on this look, here's the details:

This outfit encompasses everything I love! First off, I loved this blazer at full price, but didn't want to pay the $108, well I was patient and it went on sale for $39then had an extra 40%, so I got for like $22! I'd been wanting a pair of white jeans, but couldn't seem to find any. I went into my local Goodwill and found these for $5! I'm also crazy about my Stella and Dot necklace but didn't want to spend the $128, so I had a trunk show and got it for free with my hostess rewards! Lastly is the shoes, I found them at DSW on clearance and had a $5 off coupon. There were originally $79 and I got them for $26!

Great deal, right? Please vote here

Feeling Girly

Tomorrow night I have a Stella and Dot party, so it's an opportunity for me to get a little dressed up.  I think this is the first time I've worn shorts and heels, so this is a pretty big leap for me, but I really like how it turned out.  I so love this blazer and I added the bling of a sequined tank to dress it up a bit too.
