I thought it would be fun to share my first outfit picture with you (taken with a my iPhone no less) and then show you how I'd wear it today. I thought about doing a whole week of this series: then and now, but honestly, I wasn't crazy about a lot of the "then" pictures, so I really didn't want to share them "now." One of the things I remember from Go Blog Social in August was someone saying that if you're not at least a little bit embarrassed of some of your early posts, you aren't growing. I like that, I don't ever want to feel like my style is stagnant.
I really do like my first outfit picture though, I was so excited to wear it and after countless compliments at school that day, I decided to take the dive and share my outfit with the world.....or like the 17 people who viewed my blog for it's first month of life. Hehe. Anyway, my take today is a little bit different. Last year I owned like a million cardigans and no blazers, today I prefer the structure a blazer gives. I also wore this with a plain white tee last year, and now I prefer a blouse with a little bit of texture and interest (I'm currently craving this one, it has sequin sleeves, people!). I think style is an ever changing process, and I think it's fun to see how mine has changed throughout this year.
To all of you who take the time to stop by and check out my style, and those who comment so regularly: I genuinely want to thank you for your support, and you definitely help make my little hobby worth while!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your one year blogoversary! Isn't it fun to see how our personal style evolves as the years go on!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Your blog was the first I started reading some months ago. It has started a whole new interest in fashion for me, and how I can adapt some trends to be wearable even on someone of my age! (over 50). I've also discovered the fun of thrifting too. Here's to many more posts!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Birthday! I cringe at some of mine and Kayla's earlier photos, ha ha! Blogging is a lot of fun and a great way to learn about yourself and your personal style. Making "blog" friends was an extra bonus and an unexpected surprise for me :)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary Ginny!!!!!!! Weren't you surprised at how much work it is? I sure was!!!! Love your outfit. I'm also amazed at how much my style has changed and evolved. Enjoy today!!!!!

Happy 1st Blog Anniversary Ginny. You have come a long way and gained over 500 followers and even more readers, since then. I like how at first glance the Then & Now Outfits look the same yet are different. A Blouse & a Blazer are definitely more structured and more chic than a Tee & a Cardigan. I adore that Skirt. Your first Outfit was real nice but now it's ten times better. Your poses have changed too- lots of confidence in your eyes.
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! Thanks for sharing your first outfit post, it was fun to see. :)

ReplyDeleteHappy one year! It'll be mine in a couple months too! I used to take my outfit photos with my iPhone too haha.
ReplyDeleteI've made a bit of a switch from 100% cardigans to about 40% cardigans and 60% blazers too. I used to own one, now I have three. They really smarten up an outfit =)
