Pretty Springy

Blog Everyday in May Challenge, Day 6: What do I "do?" 

I'm a mom, and I have such joy in that!  I've read articles where women have felt like they've lost their personal identify once they've become a mom, but I don't feel like that's the case with me at all.  I am totally ok with being "Grant's Mom."  I'm so proud of the little one my husband and I created, and my heart swells thinking about my sweet little boy!

Now to my outfit: I found this dress and wasn't sure about it at first, you see it's strapless, but when I noticed it was $.99 and from the Gap, I figured I should definitely try it on. I'm glad I did, because I really like it! I recently saw Tara wear this color combo and thought it was fun, so thought I'd try it with this dress. I think the result is pretty perfect!

Right after I took these pictures my order from Stella and Dot arrived!  So excited! So, I obviously changed out my bracelets and wore my new ones instead!

    Secondly, you look beautiful as I also mentioned in my blog. The dress is great & now that I see it up close I like the tiny pleats' detail. Great job pairing it with the Teal, Cardigan. Also your bracelets are Gorgeous!!

    I love this outfit, Ginny! The pink and aqua look awesome together, and I especially love that necklace. I am always so impressed with your .99 cent thrifted finds.

    Having my daughter certainly changed my identity in a way, but I think in a very positive way! I wear my "mommy badge" with pride. :)

    I think people handle having a whole family with kids and husband differently. It sounds like you have it all under control. I hope I get to handle it well after having kids :)

    That dress is awesome - you definitely made the right decision in trying it on.

    As for being a mom - I actually still have a hard time thinking of myself as Z&R's mom (and I have two kids!). I've never been a particularly maternal type, so it's an identity that is still evolving for me. I love my two little people and I think they are amazing, but I still very clearly have a separate identity outside of motherhood....if that makes sense. :)

    Love this outfit Ginny. You always find such great deals. I know what you mean about losing your identity. I love being Aiden's mom and a wife and i'm glad that i have me back as well. It takes time to discover the new you but it's worth it. Love the necklace.
