Day 27:
So, I feel like I've really been looking at my clothes differently, which I love, this leads me to my hair. I don't spend a lot of time on it, other than to flat iron it, that is, and I'm getting bored. I've been looking for new options for styling and got the bright idea to put in my curling mouse and diffuse it. I used to do it curly all the time but stopped because I now shower at night. So, I got up early, washed it, and starting diffusing away. Once done, the look was well, similar to what you would expect if you put your finger in a light socket. No amount of styling did any good. Luckily, I was able to flat iron it back to normal. Anyone have a great curling product they use? My hair has natural wave, any suggestions would be great.
Now, onto my outfit, which luckily turned out. I'm telling you, this skirt, is......perfect! I really think I'd wear it every day if I could. I've also decided that I'd like to wear black tights every day too. Why is this the first year since I was five years old that I loved them?

My hair gets super frizzy with a diffuser. I've been using Bumble & Bumble's Surf Spray to wear it naturally wavy.

Deleteha! i feel the same way about my hair...i usually just end up with it straight again! i love this outfit on you. the skirt is so flattering and i love the pop of neon!
ReplyDeleteI love how this skirt is flowy and the shade of gray is beautiful. The snakeskin top and neon necklace look really great with it too. I never would have thought this necklace could be so versatile but after seeing all the ways you've been able to wear yours and with the variety of colors, I am convinced I need to get one this year.

Thanks, I agree when I bought I wasn't sure how I'd style it. I'm presently surprised at how much I can wear it. You should totally find one!
DeleteI love that skirt. So versatile. Gray always looks great paired with Python as well as with Yellow. I also loed yesterday's outfit, simple but so great. =)

ReplyDeleteThanks, Tara!
DeleteThe skirt is great, it looks really comfortable too!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a reeeeeally long time to get my wavy/curly hair figured out (and I'm still not totally there). But one really important thing I've learned is to let my hair air dry for about 20-30 minutes with curling cream/mousse/whatever in it before drying it with the diffuser. On days that I'm in a rush and I dry it right away, it is always frizzy and I hate it. I know everyone is different, but it might be worth a try.

I too have naturally curly hair. I highly recommend spending the money and buying Moroccan Oil curl defining cream. I also use John Frieda Frizz Ease to help with the frizzies. Another suggestion is to only shampoo your hair every other day and on the non-shampoo days, use conditioner only...really helps with frizziness.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, too!
Thanks, great tips! Frizz is totally my enemy :(
DeleteI love that skirt and I am obsessed with black tights too (I am sure you have noticed haha). I don't have many tips for hair sorry, I am one of those annoying people who washes their hair then either just sits about and lets it dry or even sleep on it wet (shouldn't admit that) and it looks the same as if I had styled it. Useful for not damaging my hair I suppose. I do curl it when I go out but other than that I am sooo lazy with it.

I shower at night usually and sleep on wet hair too. However, I look like a crazy person on the morning prior to styling it.
DeleteI bet you look lovely :)
