Day 8
As I'm writing this I'm watching How I Met Your Mother for the first time ever. Why didn't anymore tell me it was so funny! I suddenly feel robbed of like ten years of good laughs. Geez.
Now to my outfit: Patterned tights, what a fun trend. I love it with this and I really like the jewel tones of the skirt and cardigan together too, add in the bling of the necklace and I'm ready to sculpt some 7th grade minds. Side note: My kids tell me that I dress "fancy." I think this is funny, and I fully take it as a compliment. : )
Cardigan: Billabong $3 (thrifted)
Lace top: Express $19
Belt: The Limited $10
Skirt: Target $16
Necklace: Charming Charlie $10
Bracelet: The Limited $4
Tights: Target $7
Shoes: Nine West: $30
How I met your mother is awesome! My new favorite funny comedy is 'New Girl', have you ever watched it? Zooey Deschanel is wonderful in it, I've never laughed out loud so many times.

I've seen the New Girl a couple of times, but I think it's on at the same time as another show we watch, so I don't watch it regularly. I agree, it's super funny, I sure really watch it more.
DeleteYou have definitely been robbed because that show is hilarious! I discovered it about a year ago and since have watched every episode on Netflix. It's that good ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your jewel tones today, I'm thinking I need a skirt this color now!
I was pretty happy to find this on clearance at target, so loving bright colored skirts lately!
DeleteJewel tones were made for you! Love those patterned tights.

Thanks! I think I've had them for like five years :)
DeleteNo you just need to start watching Happy Endings and I'll keep you as a sister. :)

Hehe, I'll see what I can do :)
DeleteI'm not kidding you, I've been trying to track down a pencil skirt in that EXACT SHADE OF PURPLE/MAGENTA for a few weeks now. Like, scouring the Internet and the mall. I finally thought I'd found one at Banana Republic, and they were having a 40% off a full price item sale yesterday, but when I went into the store, they said they didn't have that color skirt and the nearest store that did carry it was 4 hours away. So. Stinking. Sad.
ReplyDeleteLove the jewel tones as well though! I think that shade of indigo/purple and that shade of magenta were made for each other.
Oh the agony of wanting each others clothes! I hope you find what you want soon :)
DeleteYou do dress fancy! My teachers wore lots of brown shapeless clothes (from what I remember) they definitely didn't look like this!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you only just found 'How I met Your Mother' I actually have it on in the background now whilst I browse the blogs. I love it!!

Thanks! I probably knd of stick out at school....
DeleteThanks a lot Terry!
ReplyDeleteI love patterned tights/hose - these look good on you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty outfit! I'm so in love with jewel tones...they always make me feel so pretty. I just love the colour combo of your cardigan and skirt. The only pattern tights I own are polka dots and fishnets(if that's even considered a pattern). I really need to venture a little more outside of my comfort zone because I love the way yours look!

Thanks, this is so sweet of you to say!
DeleteGinny! Hey! We have been back and forth on each others sites a bunch this week and last. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is like a color blocking concept and I LOVE IT! Your kids are correct. You are fancy.
Be sure and see my post tomorrow. It will be interesting.
Thanks! I'll be sure to check it out!
DeleteYou do dress fancy. It is totally a compliment. They mean you much more dress up than dress down and so far I am the same way though I think that will change this year with a baby.
ReplyDeleteLoving the combo here of the jewel tones. Skirt, necklace & tights are all so pretty. This outfit and your red dress from yesterday are so far my favorites from your challenge. =)
Thanks, Ada!
DeleteLove the colour of the skirt and cardi together. Great necklace too.

Thanks, I never would have thought of it before I got out of my comfort zone :)
DeleteI love the blue & purple together...so pretty! Also, my boyfriend just started watching How I Met Your Mother, too. The best part about watching a show so long after it began - marathon of reruns! It's great!

The colors in this outfit are gorgeous together, and patterned tights are always a fun addition to an outfit. And how have you never seen How I Met Your Mother before now?! haha. It's my favorite show...part of me wants it to end so we can see who they all end up with, but then I would be sad it was over! :)
