Day 5:
I love this dress and cardigan. Both are two of my favorite thrift store finds. The dress is jersey, so I pretty much feel like I'm wearing pajamas all day, nothing wrong with that right? Also, I with I knew what tights to wear with this, because I'm not gonna lie, bare legs in January is crazy brave.
On another note, I've had a number of people lately comment on "how lovely my blog is and wouldn't it be great if we followed each other." This isn't the funny part, I'm sure most of you get comments like this too daily. Here's the funny part, me and "said" blogger are already following each other. Yep, you read that right. Now, I am sorry, but how can you not remember when you've been to someone's blog and followed them, and how do you have the free time to go from blog to blog to try to get followers? I'm sorry, it had to be said. In blogging a few months I've learned it's not about followers for sake of the numbers, it's about building fun little blogging friendships and getting a glimpse of these sweet and fun people's lives. Whew, glad I got that out! Now, go enjoy a great Sunday!
Cardigan: Ann Taylor Loft $3
Dress: Ann Taylor Loft $5
Necklace: Plato's Closet $1
Shoes: Fergalicious $15
What a great dress for that price! I love that plum shade, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marla!
DeleteWow you are BRAVE with bare legs!! I admire you though as it looks fab!! This post made me laugh, I have had that too, hey whilst we are talking about it shall we follow each other Ginny? You know that would be so cool! Lol, sorry couldn't resist.

Hehe, you crack me up!
DeleteAh! Why am I just finding your blog? You are one of my kind, THRIFTY! You can barely see it in the picture, but I loveee the stones on the pockets of your cardigan! And leopard shows go with everything, right? :)

Thanks! This cardi is a favorite of mine :) I've got to try harder to sow the little details in my pictures :)
DeleteHahah, I love what you said about those certain people and gaining followers. Good point!

It's great to have followers, but who wants followers who aren't really interested in your blog???
DeleteI love your blog...mind if we follow each other? Just joking :)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is very thrifty and cute- my favorite!
Hehe, too funny! Thanks for the compliment too!
DeleteLOL I find the follow each other question odd too! I usually try to show that I'm new by telling them where I found their blog. I also like to do that so they know if the $$$ they are paying to sponsor someone is really reaching people. OK I don't know what Thrift Store you have but I am JEALOUS. My neighborhood one is kind of icky and has weird hours. lol :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, the Goodwill down the street from my house is a gold mine! Keep looking, you'll find your own :)
DeleteWhat?! That cardigan is so cute! I didn't notice the embellished pockets at first, what a fun surprise!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I kind of felt like a thief at Goodwill for getting it for such a steal. Glad you like it!
DeleteHi. First of all I just caught up with your latest posts (check out the comments). I am in love with this cardigan, as I mentioned in your last OOTD too. Very Cute. I am also glad you included THIS DRESS on the remix because I can see great remixing possibilities with it. Some simple, cotton dresses are the best sometimes. I have several little ones from Express that I plan on wearing a lot this upcoming summer as a mom toting a little newborn.
ReplyDeleteAs far as following each other I do not mind the comment but I do mind that if I indeed follow someone and they follow me but never even stop by my page or ever comment, even if it is to let me know an outfit doesn't work. Those are the types of bloggers to whom numbers matter. I follow a lot of blogs, some are daily reads (like yours - I actually read every single post of yours from the beggining), some are weekly, some monthly, some I just browse through photos. I have over 200 blogs I probably follow. Some of which I shouldn't really follow but if I have them on my blog roll is always easier to find and go back to them for any inspiration or whatever. I put a lot of thought into my blog, my posts, the photos I choose etc. I also put a lot of thought into my Sunday Feature (check that out in a few hours btw) of when I pick what I consider some of the Week's Best Looks, so many times even the smallest appreciation goes a long way. After all this is a good community and I think if I support you and genuinely like you, some support in return wouldn't hurt. Ohhh and I am all about real bloggers too. The ones that wear Designer Clothes and pose like they have a Photography Crew every day, usually in busy strets and large cities, I can look at their outfits sometimes, but those aren't the ones who warm my heart. I am real and the bloggers whose blogs I love are also real.
Speaking of real, you have some serious thrifting skills. Your thrifted goods are amazing.
Thanks for the compliments and thoughts on following :)
DeleteHahaha keep it real, Ginny! I used to at least humor people who left comments like that by going and checking out their blog, and following it if I like it. But now it's just kind of insulting and I usually ignore the comment. I just feel like I'm being bamboozled by door-to-door blog salesmen. I'LL FOLLOW YOUR BLOG FOR THE LOW, LOW PRICE OF FOLLOWING MINE!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love this outfit! I am finding that I really like the look of long cardigans with dresses. Super cute! :)
This analogy is the best! They totally seem that way too!
DeleteHeey I'm in love with your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteWould you like to follow each other? Let me know please.

Yeesh. I never know how to handle those. I usually respond to everything but the follow request. See no evil see no evil!! Hahaha. Also, I am OBSESSED with the pockets on your cardi! Give me sparkle or give me death!!
ReplyDeleteSamantha @ Sam ipsa loquitur
Glad you like the cardi, I can't get enough of the sparkle either. I think this cardi would be perfect with your great pants from yesterday. Totally obsessed!
Deleteadorable outfit!
ReplyDeleteand omg i get those comments all the time! i sometimes do the follow for a follow but only if i actually truly like their blog of if their comment was nice and not generic or something :)

Hm, I would go for black tights (I wear black tights with like EVERYTHING, never fails) or grey maybe.. I love grey and purple! I love tights, they are the best! You are very brave to go bare legged.
ReplyDeleteHa, I've noticed a lot of people don't even read what I write.. I even had somebody post 'nice outfit' on one of my posts where I didn't even post an outfit! Oh dear! I am happy that I have found a few people who read my blog and leave me good, quality posts back!

Black's a good idea, those ate mu favorite!
Deletecute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteIn Sydney, some people wear shorts and thongs (slippers to you guys) during winter, but I can't imagine ever going bare-legged when it's snowing! Truly brave ;)
ReplyDeleteps I would never guess that people would leave comments without reading the post first! It's a shame because I really like reading what people write about their outfit/daily lives.

ReplyDeleteThat is so rude! I, for one, refuse to click on anyone's blog who leaves a comment like that. I will not reward your spam commenting. The worst is when you see their copied and pasted "OMG you look great, stop by my blog!" on several blogs the same day. people have no shame.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of clicking on the post as rewarding their spamming, but you are totally right! I'm no going to help their view count, no thank you! This is supposed to be fun, and those people are definitely fun suckers!
DeleteFound you from a link up. This is such a great comfy look! I really like the color combination, and really awesome thrift finds are the best :)

DeleteYou are so so cute, girl! This outfit is adorable and I seriously am SO JEALOUS of your thrifting skills! I am still on the search for a good thrift shop near my house & also near my school (where I spend half of the year!).

My weirdest blogging follower issue was when I had a follower who commented on several of my posts saying that she followed me and that I should follow back. She pressure me so much (over several months) that I finally gave in and followed back. I'd really just prefer if people would choose to follow because they enjoy my blog and not worry about whether or not they follow back.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, this is an adorable outfit! :)

That's so weird, I'll never understand some people!
DeleteThanks for the compliment!
